Accident Analysis
Vektor has applied the “black box” concept used in airplane accident investigations to understand how and why accidents happen to road vehicles. This revolutionary concept in telematics aims to reduce fraudulent insurance claims. It also empowers fleet managers with another tool to reduce unsafe driving habits, while allowing a reduction in insurance premiums.
In case of an accident, data collected for over 70 seconds using the remote diagnosis module and the 3-axis G Sensor is analyzed using proprietary algorithms on VTSP. A detailed report is produced by the system that outlines the cause and the result of the accident. The system can be integrated to the back office applications of insurers as well as logistics ERPs.
The report can aid insurers in determining how an accident happened, reducing the likelihood of fraudulent claims. Fleet managers using the system can benefit from reduced insurance premiums.
